Zurich-based Ad Tech startup, C WIRE, has closed its first external round of investment led by 21 Celsius in order to fuel the development of its advertising platform. The company is building a transparent advertising ecosystem to support news and other quality content publishers, with powerful, sustainable, high-impact advertising and targeting capabilities.
Founded by four advertising and media experts, C WIRE has developed a cookie-free, advertising platform delivering impactful ad formats with sophisticated contextual targeting capabilities respecting the highest privacy standards. At the same time, C WIRE’s transparent business model creates significantly more attractive conditions for media partners and sustainable revenues for professional content producers.
Funding will flow into the ongoing development of its proprietary targeting technology, as well as the development of new, engaging forms of advertising. In addition, the company is starting its expansion into markets outside Switzerland. In the first quarter of 2022, C WIRE will launch in Austria, with further markets following in the second half of the year.
Frederik Strange, Partners at 21 Celsius is also joining C WIRE as a board member. “We at 21 Celsius invest in early pre-seed companies where the team is of utmost importance as ideas and business models can be successfully pivoted if the team is competent enough. The team at C Wire is one of the strongest ones we have ever seen and the ‘David versus Goliath’ vision of showing existing giant tech companies that a simpler solution, without tracking people via cookies, exists is very inspiring. This will benefit independent journalism, advertisers and consumers alike”.
Andreas Glänzer, CRO of Adverity and one of the private investors on his motivation to invest: “I’ve been impressed with the speed with which C WIRE has found product market fit and started their growth process. I believe the founding team has what it takes to achieve their bold vision of a transparent advertising ecosystem. I am happy to be a part of that journey”.
"We are looking forward to the upcoming launch in the media and advertising market of Austria," said COO Rui de Freitas. "Our solutions have met with great interest from both advertisers and media partners, which is why the launch in Austria has been brought forward to the first quarter."
