The collection includes basic standard reference materials, published county records, family histories, and materials on foriegn countries. Also included, are records on microfiche, microfilm, CD's and unpublished materials donated by Society members, as well as a large file of maps. The periodical collection is noteworthy, and one of the finest in the West. The library also has periodicals from over 150 societies.
Meetings
Meetings are held at the Library, with an interesting speaker dealing with some aspect of family research and a social time is provided so that members can become better acquainted. The time and subject is always announced in the monthly publication, THE SEARCHER, and on the homepage.
SCGS produces a monthly newsletter called THE SEARCHER.
Classes
Classes for beginners and advanced researchers are scheduled throughout the year. In an effort to meet the needs of members, the classes are offered at different times, both days and evenings, and weekdays and weekends. Call (818) 843-7247 for information or check the homepage.
Workshops
Workshops pertaining to specific states, countries, or specific topics when scheduled are announced in THE SEARCHER or on the homepage.
