To reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
The American Heart Association, Western States Affiliate serves the
people of California, Nevada and Utah.
As part of the American Heart Association, National Center, their top priority
is to fund biomedical research. This year, along with their National
Center's commitment, they will invest more than $7.9 million in support
of biomedical research.

The AHA is also a source for cardiovascular-health information. Their prevention-based
programs reach millions of people with potentially life-saving information
to many diverse groups. From women
and heart disease conferences and the American
Heart Walk to HeartPower!
in schools, to fighting the tobacco industry, to advocating for greater
public access to defibrillation in the community, their continuing efforts
help ensure a better life for us all.
