Thomas Spiegel becomes CEO of Zurich-based advertising start-up

The Zurich-based digital advertising start-up C Wire is strengthening its management team. Thomas Spiegel (38) joins the company, founded in 2020, as CEO. Spiegel most recently worked on the Ringier Group Executive Board, before which he led Dentsu as Switzerland CEO to become the country's largest agency group.

Spiegel will become the new CEO of C Wire from August, he will also take over 25% of the company shares. At the same time, Rui de Freitas, co-founder and previous CEO, will move to the COO position.

The decisive factors for his joining were the product and the team, says Thomas Spiegel. "After many years in complex organisational structures, I wanted a situation characterised by team spirit, willingness to perform and common goals. I found this constellation at C Wire.

The team is outstanding and has developed an extremely strong product portfolio over the past 18 months. Now it's about taking the next step and creating fast, sustainable growth together with new investors. "The entire existing team is excited about the leadership reinforcement, says Rui de Freitas, founder of C Wire. "Over the last 18 months we have developed our own advertising technology and good partnerships with clients and media. With the current growth of the company and the upcoming scaling, I want to fully focus on the product. At the same time, we need someone with a deep understanding of the industry and an international network who is able to shape and implement our vision. Having worked with Thomas before, I knew that he fits this profile perfectly and is also a great human fit. He is the perfect addition to our team and I look forward to working with him to deliver powerful advertising solutions to our clients, media partners and investors."
